The things people actually ask.
Joining
Is it really free to join?
Yes, permanently. Creating a complete profile, being discovered by everyone who matches you, and receiving interests are all free. You also get five Authenty suggestions to try the AI properly before you spend anything.
Can my father or brother create the profile?
Yes. At the first step you say who you are creating it for. The manager verifies their own number, receives the enquiries, and can hide their number from other members. The profile carries a permanent “Managed by her father” badge that cannot be hidden, the other family always knows who they are speaking to.
Do I have to upload a photo?
No. Photos are optional for everyone. For sisters they are hidden by default and released person by person, with approval you can revoke at any time.
How long does approval take?
A human reads every profile before it goes live. Currently about seven hours on average, and we publish that number.
Privacy
Can I stop people from a particular place seeing me?
Yes, and this is a real gate rather than a preference. Turn on the audience gate, choose “Karnataka only”, and nobody outside Karnataka can find, search or contact you. It is enforced in the database, not the interface.
Can I hide from my own relatives?
Yes. Enter their phone numbers under “Hide from my contacts” and any account registered with those numbers will never see your profile.
Who can see my questionnaire answers?
By default only people whose interest you have accepted, plus your wali if you have given them access. Nobody can buy their way into reading them.
Will my photo leak?
Every photo shown to someone carries a watermark bearing that viewer's member ID, so a leaked screenshot points straight back at whoever leaked it. Download and right-click are disabled.
Money
Is there a subscription?
No. We sell credit packs. Nothing auto-renews and there is nothing to remember to cancel.
Do credits expire?
Never.
What if I spend credits on a fake profile?
If we later ban a profile for fraud, every credit spent on it is refunded to your wallet automatically. You do not have to ask.
Why does verification cost money?
Document review by a person costs us real money, and charging keeps casual accounts out. You can also earn it through referrals.
Can I get a refund?
Unused credit packs within seven days. Spotlight promotions pro-rata if we take a profile down for our own reasons.
The AI
What is Authenty AI?
A matchmaker you talk to. Describe what you want in plain words, and refine it out loud as many times as you like. It explains why each person is on your shortlist.
Can it see my phone number?
No. Authenty is physically unable to surface a phone number, email or full name, that is blocked at the tool layer, not by instruction.
Will it give me religious rulings?
No. It redirects religious questions to a qualified scholar and offers to book you one.
Does it show me paid profiles first?
Promoted profiles are capped at two per page and always labelled. We never let paid placement fill a page.
Counselling
Who are the counsellors?
Sheikhs, scholars and marriage counsellors whose credentials we verify independently before they can take a booking.
Can my wali join?
Yes, as an observer, on any session.
Are sessions recorded?
Audio sessions are never recorded. Text sessions are retained per our retention policy.
Is it a fatwa service?
No. Counsellors give guidance within a stated scope. For a binding ruling, speak to your local scholar.
Families and the wali
Can one parent manage several children?
Yes. One account holds a profile for each candidate, sharing a single wallet and plan. Profiles on the same account never appear in each other's search or suggestions, so a brother is never shown his own sister.
What can a guardian do without the candidate?
Whatever the candidate has delegated, set per person and recorded. Accepting a proposal is never delegable: it is recorded against the candidate, and for a sister her consent is a condition of the nikah itself.
Can the two families talk before the candidates do?
Yes, and most prefer to. A private wali-to-wali channel lets the guardians talk first, with no numbers exchanged and nothing visible to either candidate, until both sides agree to introduce them.
Does the candidate know a profile was made for them?
Always. We message them on their own number to confirm, and they can take control of it or close it at any time. A profile nobody has agreed to is not one we publish.
Conditions and the contract
What are stated conditions?
What you need written into the nikah contract, said before anyone gets attached: continuing your studies, separate accommodation, when the mahr is paid. Both sides state theirs and answer the other's in writing.
Is this the actual contract?
No, and every screen says so. It is a disclosure and negotiation tool. The contract itself is drawn up with your wali and whoever conducts the nikah.
What if a condition is disputed among scholars?
We tell you which ones are, in the condition itself, and we tell you to ask someone you learn from rather than relying on us. We do not settle religious disputes.
Can I change my mind about a condition?
Yes. Withdrawing one notifies anyone currently in conversation with you who had seen it, so nobody is working from a copy that no longer holds.
Leaving
Can I delete everything?
Yes, permanently, from your settings. Profile, answers, questionnaire, conditions, biodata and share links. Not a hidden setting and not a support ticket.
What survives deletion?
Only records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records, and anonymised moderation outcomes. Nothing that identifies you to another member.
Can I pause instead?
Yes. You come out of search and suggestions without losing anything, and it is reversible at any time.
Do you sell my data?
No, and the business model does not need it. You pay in credits, so you are not the product.
Still not answered?
Raise a ticket from inside your account and we will reply within the published time for that category, usually much sooner.
