Terms of Service
Last updated 29 August 2026
This is a complete working draft covering India's DPDP Act 2023, the IT Rules 2021 and GDPR for members abroad. It must be reviewed and signed off by a qualified Indian lawyer before launch. Do not rely on it as it stands.
These terms govern your use of AuthenticNikah. By creating an account you agree to them. We have written them in plain language deliberately. If something here is unclear, that is our failure and you should tell us.
01Who may use AuthenticNikah
You must be at least 18 years old and legally free to marry under the law of the country in which you reside. We verify age at signup and remove accounts that misrepresent it.
You must be Muslim. This is a matrimonial platform intended to facilitate nikah, and the entire product is built around that purpose.
One person, one account. Creating additional accounts to evade a block, a suspension or a ban is a breach of these terms.
02Profiles created for someone else
A parent, sibling or guardian may create and manage a profile on behalf of a candidate. If you do so, you must confirm that the candidate knows the profile exists. We record that confirmation.
Every proxy-managed profile carries a permanent, visible badge identifying the relationship of the manager. This cannot be hidden or removed, because other families are entitled to know who they are actually communicating with.
Creating a profile for a person without their knowledge is a serious breach and results in removal of the profile and the manager's account.
03Accuracy and honesty
Information you provide about age, marital status, existing marriages, children, health conditions and identity must be accurate. Misrepresentation on these points is grounds for immediate removal without refund.
Photographs must be of the person the profile represents. Using another person's image is both a breach of these terms and, potentially, a criminal matter.
If your circumstances change (you marry, you pause your search, or you are no longer looking), you must update your status.
04Credits, payments and what you are buying
Creating a profile, completing it, being discoverable and receiving interests are free and will remain so.
Credits are a prepaid unit used for profile reveals, contact unlocks, questionnaire unlocks, question sets and boosts. Credits are not currency, are not transferable between accounts, and have no cash value.
Credits do not expire. We do not operate subscriptions or auto-renewal for credit packs. Time-boxed promotions such as Spotlight are stated clearly as such at the point of purchase.
Where you spend credits to reveal or contact a profile that we subsequently ban for fraud, those credits are refunded to your wallet automatically.
05Conduct
Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. In summary: conduct yourself with adab, be honest, respect privacy, do not solicit money, and do not continue to contact someone who has declined.
We moderate conversations for contact-detail sharing before a contact unlock, abusive content, and off-platform solicitation. Flagged messages are reviewed by a person.
Screenshotting, saving or redistributing another member's photograph is prohibited. Photographs displayed to you are watermarked with your member identifier.
06Verification and what it means
A verified badge means we have reviewed a government identity document and, where applicable, matched it to a live selfie. It is a statement about identity, not an endorsement of character, suitability or intention.
We delete or irreversibly redact identity documents 90 days after recording a verdict. We retain the verdict, not the document.
We do not conduct criminal background checks. You remain responsible for your own diligence, and we strongly encourage families to meet and to involve a wali.
07Counselling services
Counsellors and scholars listed on the platform are independent practitioners whose credentials we verify. They are not our employees.
Counselling offered through the platform is religious and marital guidance within a stated scope. It is not medical advice, psychiatric treatment, or legal advice, and must not be relied upon as such.
Rulings given by a scholar are that scholar's own. Authenty AI does not give religious rulings at all and will direct you to a qualified person.
08What we do not promise
We do not guarantee that you will find a spouse, receive interest, or receive replies. We are a platform, not a matchmaker of last resort.
We do not guarantee that any member is who they claim to be beyond the level of verification shown on their profile.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces what you have already paid for, we will refund the affected portion.
09Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms, our guidelines, or applicable law. Where we do so, we will tell you the reason and you may appeal.
Where an account is removed for fraud, impersonation, harassment or creating a profile without consent, unused credits are forfeited.
You may close your account at any time from Settings. You may also export your data first.
10Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with the platform is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11Governing law and grievances
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, we appoint a Grievance Officer whose name and contact address are published on our Privacy Policy. Grievances are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
